B&B Vecchio Torchio - Bard, Valle d'Aosta - castelli di Issogne e Verres, valli di Champorcher, Gressoney e Ayas

Bard is located at 381 meters above sea level, and is situated in the narrowest part of the Valle d'Aosta, where the rocks descend steeply towards the Dora Baltea. At this point, the river makes a meander, from where on the top of the rock stands the famous Fort. The medieval village of Bard is one of the most suggestive of the whole valley, as, since ancient times, due to its strategic position, it has always been a safe bulwark against invasions, and it still preserves the arched style rich in mullioned windows with cross windows. The Fort that is still visible was built around the year 1000, on previous buildings whose foundations were made by the Romans.
